It was then known as the EDCO bowls club, this name having come from the Evans Deakin company who had given their employees permission to use company land to start a bowling club in 1942.<br /> The committee obtained a lease on council land at Salisbury and built new greens and a clubhouse which was officially opened on September 27th 1976.
